Carbon ColnagoThis amazing Colnalgo frame had a sticker on the top tube that the owner did not like. This is a tricky job, especially considering this is one of the most expensive bicycle frames on the market. The quality of the decal and factory clearcoat is very high. I ‘blocked’ back the decal carefully with 800 grit wet & dry. Avoiding breaking the surface of the resin is a very delicate process. The top tube was then masked (rolling the tape edge back to avoid a sharp line of clearcoat) to the edge of the carbon ‘lugs’. After clearcoating these edges where polished to remove any signs of the work carried out. My intervention is now completely invisible. I would like to think the factory would not be able to notice, other than the missing decal! I also clearcoated some carbon cranks for the owner, who had already removed the branding. | ![]() During removal | ![]() After cleacoat | ![]() 1 | ![]() 2 | ![]() Clearcoated toptube | ![]() Clearcoated Carbon Cranks | ![]() Clearcoated Cranks |
